if there is a thirty-first
then the month is still not through
but if i’ve got it reversed
then i don’t know what i’ll do
there’s a saying that teaches you
about april, june, and november
the second part i wish i knew
if thirty days i can’t remember
& something about past september
that my head could never get through
if only this month was december
i’d know whether the rent was due
i lost the paddle, but kept the canoe
by holding onto the sayings verse
what is the point without its point to
